It's 21 years since Hyde Park opened its gates to the BBC Proms audience. The Royal Albert Hall can only hold 5,000 so the BBC decided to relay the famous Last Night of the Proms on giant video screens in London's Hyde Park to enable a larger audience to enjoy the Last Night experience. Initially an experiment, the first show was a huge success and Proms in the Park is now established as one of the musical highlights of the London season. Proms in the Park favourites, the 60-piece BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Richard Balcombe, will again perform all the traditional Last Night anthems live on the Hyde Park stage.
